Every month, Mini Mariners welcomes 2-5 year-olds and their parents/carers.

Explore the galleries, sing and dance in interactive tours with costumed guides. Enjoy creative free play, craft, games, dress-ups and story time in our themed activity area.

August - Terrific Transport

Toot toot, chug, chug and row, row around the museum as we explore different types of transport and how they move in special character tours for under 5s and their carers.
Enjoy stories, sing songs and move and dance through the galleries in this fun filled learning program. Craft your own souvenir boat, hot air balloon or sailor hat to take home.

September - Alphabet Animals 

Mini Mariners fish 

 A is for anemone, Z is for Zebrafish. Take a journey through the alphabet of all things furry, feathered and finned as we spot amazing animals in the museum and the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition. Enjoy touch tours with creature specimens, movement, songs, games, craft and free play in our themed activity space. Make your own block-printed tote bag, animal puppet or hat to take home.

Please meet at the foyer 5–10 minutes before the program and collect your sticker from the front desk. If you arrive early or want to stay longer, you can explore our galleries and our PLAY gallery or grab a coffee from the Kiosk or Yots cafe.
