Go on an arctic adventure this summer

This summer, families are invited to spend the day having an Arctic adventure as the Australian National Maritime Museum brings winter to Sydney in a range of un-bearably cool activities for children. Inspired by its family exhibition Arctic Voices, there’s fun for the whole family each day including art making, games and dress ups, interactive theatre performances, touchable objects and artefacts, 3D film screenings and activities just for the littlies.

You could be wearing clothes made in India, watching a TV made in Japan while sitting on a sofa containing wood from Argentina on a laminate floor manufactured in Sweden. All of this has been made possible by a rectangular steel box – the shipping container.

Museum awards grants to preserve Australia’s rich maritime heritage

Discover The Program Of Tara's Stopover In Sydney

In collaboration with the Australian National Maritime Museum, Tara, the famous French research schooner, will be in Sydney from August 18th to 23rd for a stopover during the Tara Pacific expedition. After departing from Lorient (France) in May 2016, the boat has sailed nearly 50,000 km across the Pacific Ocean to explore corals reefs.
