This Wednesday 16 September we’re participating in International #AskACurator Day on Twitter. It’s an opportunity to ask our curators about anything that you are curious about or would like more information on. Our curatorial team will be on standby to answer your curliest questions about our collections, exhibitions and programs. Simply ask your question using the hashtag #AskACurator and mention @ANMMuseum in your tweet.
We are encouraging teachers to join in and ask our curators questions too. You might be a teacher who is doing swimwear, immigration or early explorers in the classroom, looking to connect your students with a cultural institution, or just have a burning question you have always wanted to ask. Follow @ANMMedu and Tweet your questions. Our curators will be standing by.
Here’s a bit about our participating curators:
Daina Fletcher works on the art collections and has worked on exhibitions about swimwear, beach history, windjammer voyages and Antarctic adventurers.
Richard Wood is a museum generalist who manages our USA Programs, including new exhibitions, the USA Gallery and our collection.
David Payne is our Curator of Historic Vessels, with a particular focus on those that still exist, and their stories.
Dr James Hunter is a maritime archaeologist who specialises in the history of the Royal Australian Navy.
Kim Tao curates immigration history and has special interest in knitting.
How do I join in?
